This happen to my dad mid this year @ NS highway near 139.7km.. area where a family in their mitsubishi grandis mpv perished and only a baby survived...it was raining and he was alone travelling to kl, travelling on first lane.. a flat bed is parked at the shoulder and suddenly it swerved all the way to the first lane, slammed his brakes and skidded to the grass, hit a tree at e driver side. and brakes couldn work so tried to direct the skidded car down the huge drain...we suspect it is a touting incident cos 5mins after the incident, a tow truck came with (the heavily tatooed chinese guy in blueyellow shirt and white/red cap and a few other malays).. he insisted to tow my dad car for a fee of RM13,000, and said no one can tow/touch the car except him..quite rude.. but he ignored them and called another tow company and his fren in malaysia to help den the chinese guy left..upon inspection of the road, there is oil spilage where he skidded...so most prob is $$ seekers and live ignorers..just beware when driving at NS highway..this ppl does not care about ppls live...dad was lucky to walk away to have minor glass shard cuts only...

Next thing you know, there was a lady lying on the ground with a pool of blood surrounding her head.The STOMPer, who witnessed some of the accident, appeals for eye witnesses to come forth and help police capture the inconsiderate driver.In an email to STOMP today (27 Oct), the STOMPer says: "This took place on 17 Oct at about 6pm, at Tampines Ave 5.“It happened so fast that both my colleague and I saw the silver flying Honda mount a kerb, braking with smoke around and bashing into the green railings.“We took a closer look as it seemed like someone was injured. I managed to take a shot of the driver and passengers while walking to the scene of the injured person.“It was a car accident which unfortunately resulted in the poor auntie being knocked down. When an off-duty traffic police officer stopped by to help out, we realised that the driver and passenger of the silver Honda had longed gone.“I feel sad for the auntie as she is innocent. Police car overturned at SiglapTue, Oct 28, 2008AsiaOneA police car crashed into some railing, damaged a bus stop, and flipped onto the fences of two houses on Monday.As reported by Shin Min Daily, the accident happened at about 5pm at Frankel Avenue in the Siglap area. It was drizzling, and the driver lost control as he was cruising towards Changi road.The supports on one side of the bus stop were knocked out, as was one of the bus stop seats. Parts of the railing ended up in the ditch.The hood of the police car was totally smashed on the pavement, while the boot was balanced on the fence of one of the houses behind the bus stop. Part of the low wall surrounding the neighbouring house was also destroyed.Shattered glass from the windscreen and some parts of the car were scattered on the pavement as well. Fortunately no passerbys were injured.The driver, a policeman from Bedok Police Post, suffered mild injuries to his head and arm. He was not patrolling when the accident happened.From the extent of the damage it appears that the car was travelling at high speed when it skidded.Police are investigating the incident and urge any eye witnesses to call 1800-5471818 to contact the investigating personnel.

(looks like the pictures were taken by him?)the side airbag certainly did it's job. the flatbed at the shoulder swerved all the way out to the first lane??!i would treat any vehicle on the side of the shoulder to be suspicious. never know what they are up to. will pay even more attention nowadays. oil spillage is not uncommon, (be it intentional or unintentional) especially if there's a slight hump/bump on the road. my recent trip up also saw a bus on the grass verge. dun know what happen though. ==============thanks for the picture n the experience your dad went thru.z.

Both men had known each other since 2002, when they were students in the same secondary school.In an interview before he was sentenced, Mohamed Basheer said he and Muhammad Habibullah, a full-time NSF at Clementi Fire Station, did many things together, like going to the movies, hanging out and playing snooker.He was due to end his NSF stint next June while Muhammad Habibullah's would have ended this year.At 3am on 31 Dec last year, Mohamed Basheer, who was then 19, was driving his mother's month-old white Honda Civic along the centre lane of the AYE towards Tuas.At the time, Mohamed Basheer was a probationary driver and also under probation for two charges of theft and using criminal force.He also failed to display the probationary plate on the car.The evening before the accident, the friends had met and decided to go for a meal and drinks at Serangoon Road, near the Tekka market area.He said: 'Muhammad Habibullah had bought a new motorcycle two days earlier and he wanted to try it out. He rode the motorcycle to meet me at the void deck of my home at Clementi and we then went to Clementi Fire Station.'They then went to a 7-Eleven store near the fire station, where Muhammad Habibullah bought some vodka.Mohamed Basheer said: 'I drink alcohol sometimes, but am not a habitual drinker. Usually, Muhammad Habibullah would drink with some friends and I would just sit with them.Couldn't say no 'But that evening, he asked me to drink with him, saying that he had already bought the drink and prepared two cups for us. How could I say no?' After several drinks, they drove to Serangoon Road in the Civic.He said: 'I do not know how long we spent there, but time flew. We had a meal and a few more drinks and soon it was time for me to drive Muhammad Habibullah back to the fire station.'His uniform was in my car. As we walked to the car, he kept asking me to let him drive the car but I told him that he was too tipsy.'Mohamed Basheer said that while he was driving, his friend rolled down the window on his side and occasionally waved his hand outside.He said: 'I was driving at 120kmh. Near Shenton Way, Muhammad Habibullah suddenly unbuckled his seat belt and tried to take over the steering wheel.'I pushed him away but the steering wheel moved to the right and I lost control of the car.'The next thing Mohamed Basheer knew was the car hitting the centre guard rail of the AYE and Muhammad Habibullah's body flying out onto the road.The impact caused the car to spin a few times at the centre lane, then veer and hit the left wall of the expressway before stopping near the centre lane.He said: 'I still have nightmares of the accident. I still see my friend's mangled and bleeding body on the road.'I had to attend counselling sessions at the SAF Counselling Centre after the accident.'Forgiven by victim's family Mohamed Basheer said his friend's family had forgiven him for what happened but the mother is still distraught.His friend's father, Mr Mohd Haniffa, told The New Paper a few days after the accident: 'Everyone makes mistakes in life. Though this was a big mistake, I bear no grudges against him.'Mohamed Bashir said he had also stopped drinking alcohol.He said: 'His father said it was not my fault, that what happened was fated. But his wife cries when she sees me as I remind her of her dead son.'Muhammad Habibullah's birthday (3 Jul) and Hari Raya Puasa have since passed, and it has been very hard for them to celebrate without him around.'Since the accident, I have tried to avoid the site where it happened but I had to pass the site twice this year. When I passed it, I closed my eyes and moved on.'Mohamed Basheer said he visits a mosque near Keppel Road every Friday to offer prayers for his dead friend. He said: 'Since the accident, I have grown closer to my family and we have shared a lot about the accident. My parents have also been supportive.'Thanks to their support and prayers, I am prepared for whatever sentence the court gives me. 10-wheeler truck rams into Tampines flyover pillarSTOMPer David saw this accident involving a 10-wheeler truck that happened underneath the Tampines Flyover, between Pasir Ris Drive 12 and Tampines Avenue 10, at about 7am today (November 11).Apparently the truck had rammed into the flyover pillar, leaving the driver stuck in the vehicle.STOMP is contacting the Police for more information.
