The F-RS fits but is a two-piece wheel

here is the 17 inch sizes:

17X7.5 5-114 ET48
17X8 5-100 ET44
17X8 5-114 ET44
17X8.5 5-114 ET40

Quote: From Tire Rack Rep:

15” and 16” are Type F single piece SSF

17”, 18” and 19” are Type F-RS hybrid two-piece SSF

The new wheel is engineered to be stronger and lighter than the Type C / C-RS. On average the new wheel will weigh about .3 - .5 lbs. less for any given size.

The wheel will be slightly more expensive than the Type C
(final pricing has not been determined yet)

The wheel will be available in a flat black paint like is shown in the photo. We will look at adding any additional finishes next year.

Delivery for the new wheel will be early 2008 to be ready for the spring season.

Touched*

Hmm, the guy selling the Type F is 5x113.
+ i think the flat black looks dam fierce.

Is it really lighter? the guy selling the type F posts a 16"
rim at 6.5Kg/ pc.

The type C 16" is just supposed to be 5kg.

you always talk to me about those "skinny" Konig rims. imprinted in my head liao.

thought this would fit the bill just fine. hope it helps.

i'm not sure about the weight. but this should be quite light liao. he's running 7.0J width.

usually *ballpark figure
15" at 5kg range.
16" at 6kg range.
17" at 7kg range.

the size of the rim is one issue, there's also the width. wider, it would weight more.
but with wider, you can fit wider tyres also. ie: 235 n above type.

hey, how come the 17 x 7.5J weighs 16.0lbs (7.3kg)?

somemore if the type-f is 0.5lbs lighter than the type-c (on the high side), doesn't that make it 7.5kg? *heng i buy rays wheels siah (6.3kg).*

crisz, just another considering factor, don't buy wheels with too many spokes because cleaning wheels will be a nightmare. also, too many spokes will also mean that it is harder to reach inside to clean the backside of the rim. unless you got ah sum to wash your car like paul (ah meow, sorry for calling you ah sum...keke). more spokes is good, but not too many.

fyi, the lightest and strongest wheels are those with the old days spokies. but modern day brake systems has force that out of the scene.

the type c 17" weighs 5.9kg.
By right type f should weigh about 5.7.
I got post slightly further back also, as someone on the internet was asking this question,
cause type F is supposed to be lighter.

I'll snoop around more.
About washing, petrol kiosk washes my car . 2x a week, so i'm not bothered. keke

Can use this link and click on the sizes for available configurations for that size:
http://www.more-japan.com/SSR_typef.php

This is the link for the 17" configuration:
http://www.more-japan.com/SSR/typef/17inch.php

Wheel weight seems wrong.
The lightest 17" after a metric conversion seems to be 6.9kg.
That's medium weight. In no way light.
Even their Type C weights seem wrong. Slightly lighter about 6.7kg.
But it's common knowledge type c is about 5.9kg... Zzzz.
Buay zhun. Maybe they factor in weight for tires?

May have to wait for wheel weight tables to be updated by some of the international
forums, or drop by yap to ask.

the 5.9kg was from a pdf file that was compiled by a vivid wheel collector (bo liaoz). i would trust manufacturer's specification anytime. seems like the type c DOES weigh 6.9kg. so now, i need to find out what's mine (from manufacturer of course).
