Marshals & Volunteers for 2008 Singapore Formula One

Today's papers reported that SMSA is looking for marshals for next years F1. They are looking volunteers from affiliated clubs, learning institutions etc.

Good experience, and good exposure if our club can somehow get involve in anyway. ... free viewing of the race too. kekeke.


(*IT guys ... how about we volunteer for some IT support.... kekeke)

It depends...sekali kena usher for the toilet or MRT entrance, then jialat liow, but at least still can hear the "monster" screaming lar... :lol:  :lol:

many different roles are needed, ushers, flag bearers, safety technicians, some required training with certified (they will send selected candidates overseas for training).

understand respond overwhelming.

i think the easiest to be part of it are those car workshops.

dont think so ... SMSA is the authority working with the orgainser on this and would prefer volunteers from affiliated clubs or students. They are not looking for mechanics but event organising help.  Moreover workshop wont work for free.

key word "volunteer". aka low cost/close to free.

works both ways. Volunteers want to see action/ be in the action. whereas SMSA need people in the thick of action.

kinda like a win win situation.

i know there's no free lunch but some workshops might like to leverage such events to boost their own marketing strategy. so shall see how... anyway anyone been to yesterday mptmotor event at kallang?
