looking back. i think IPTV is taking off. not in Singapore. but in, yes, China.

was in Hainan island couple of months back. in the middle of two towns and in those cheap 100 yuan a nite hotel.
room was basic with a shower and little amenity. but but but, it got Ethernet connection with IPTV!

you get to view all sort of channels and do re-play, re-wind, freeze frame etc.

only question is how the bandwidth is going to be affect with everyone getting on the IP bandwagon.
something like what's happening locally with all the various 3G complains i read about in the various forums.

and after about 6 months or so. IPTV box is getting popular in Singapore. try Sim Lim Square and you will find people selling these boxes.

not cable descrambler. pretty interesting how the standard 6 month lag time we are still having.
