How many 7th gen celica left?

i'm a great fan of celica especially the 7th gen.
these days, i have been reading n surfing the
sgcarmart to check on the car. i realised that
many have since been exported n it actually
sadden me. why? becos i intend to get one
later ma. haha

so why you all 1 2 export the beauty?
also, how many are still left in sgp?
btw, wat is the FC for a manual n auto?

hi Yeo, welcome to CSG.

there's probably around 40-50 left. (still a fair number)
at the peak probably around 2-300 of them on the road.

as for the export reason. pretty simple, the parf/arf was high. hence, it made $ sense to change them out.

FC really depends on the right foot.
but in general, around the 10-13km/L mark for highway cruising. city would be around the 8-9km/L figure. nothing too low nor too high. Manual fair better, but the auto ain't too shabby in the FC dept.

For ur case, a 41 y/o insurance premium with ur 50% NCD shd b abt $1k+...& the earliest reg Celica in Sg is in 1999, but imo, most Celica before 2003-2004 will not b around, reason being, the OMV & PARF r all v high, exporting r a better option for most owners during then..slim chance man..

Dude, if u r not driving a Celica now, doesn't matter, u r still welcome to join us..fyi, it's not just abt cars when we meet, u'l hav to experience tis to understand..

Back when the COE was in the low $10K or less, some dealers actually converted some earlier Gen 7 that they were re-selling into COE cars. But that was for a brief period only, I remember seeing maybe 2 or 3 online.

Have to add some of views. Since joining the club, I saw a lot of celicas being exported. Many having the same reason. ie, high paper value. And, local re-sale is tough cos' it takes an enthusiast to want to buy a celica. For dealers, it really tough reselling the celica. For direct owners, it even worse. My few friends tried to sell their celicas for easily 2 or 3 months. Almost all the time.... they get silly calls asking about "what is the bhp/ top speed?" That sort of thing. Nothing concrete ever gets out of the calls.

Its quite annoying having to sell the car locally. If buyers aren't that keen, it makes more sense to just export the car. I chose the easier route to pass to dealer cos' the hassle of trying to find a buyer just dun make sense.

I'm sure a lot of bros would concur. Its really unfortunate cos the local tax laws give incentive for keeping high paper value cars.

I really doubt local market can sell.  The thought of people calling up to ask about top speed and horsepower.... is just a turn off.

Too few serious (if there are any to begin with) buyers also.
